Inertia formed in early 2000 and has grown to become one of Australia's leading independent record companies. Inertia currently employs over 30 staff in its Sydney based office and is fully Australian owned and operated.

Inertia was formed by the motivation to bridge the gap between the ever expanding volumes of music being produced locally and internationally and the consistent demand for specific product within the Australian marketplace.

Inertia covers a wide spectrum of musical styles; from hiphop, pop, electronica, house and techno to reggae, retro and soul through to alt.country, folk, roots, punk and indie.

Our growing roster includes over 100 exclusively distributed labels;
